The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
Since I was out there taking pictures. . .

Had to go out to the backyard to take jewelry pictures. It was too damn hot to fight with Plunket to keep him inside, so out he went. He lasted less than 20 minutes. No need to chase him back inside, he was done. Opened the screen door all by himself and didn't come out again.

While I was out there I gathered tonight's dinner.

A gigantic banana pepper, cherry tomatoes, rosemary, Greek oregano and sweet basil. Upstairs I've got mounds of garlic all dried and ready to go. In the cupboard there is garlic lover's pasta, cheap dry white wine and bread crumbs. In the fridge- chicken breast. We can all see where this is going, can't we?

My veggie patch is doing phenomenally. It's probably because I'm here to weed and water as needed.

There are more than 5 bell peppers on this one little plant:

As I said earlier, I picked the gigantic banana pepper. There are plenty more on the vine:

The poblanos are also starting to bend with the weight of their fruit:

I dunno if it is clear in the photos, but I got lots and lots of peppers! LOTS!

Also waiting for redness-- slicing tomatoes and romas:

The whole shebang, including herbs, in less than 15 square feet:

Last year my one plant yielded a grand total of 4 peppers. Which more than the bell peppers 3. It was so scorchingly hot and dry last year, whatever didn't die was stressed to the limit. The poblanos set fruit later than any other pepper I've grown.

This year there are already 5 peppers on one plant and 3 on the other-- that I can see. And it isn't even August yet! In other words, yeah kinda low yield.
