The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
That hardy hibiscus Justin promised me for Mother's Day. . .

I think I'm getting it today. First I didn't get it because Justin is not as smart as he likes to believe he is, deposited his check on the Friday before Mother's Day and expected it to clear by that Sunday.

When that fell through he ordered it on-line. He tells me, "See, look!" and shows me the on-line order. Me: Um, Jus-- that's a hydrangea. Not the same as a hibiscus. We already have hydrangeas."*

Today Mendany and The Boy are going to Hick's Nursery where I hope to finally get my hibiscus and also some gorgeous flowering plants to put in pots and set on my front steps. Right next to Hick's, the Friends are having a Strawberry Festival. We're stopping there. Then I hope to talk them into hitting Freeport's Nautical Mile. That's the place we didn't get to Memorial Day weekend because we were cleaning and cleaning and cleaning. . .

And lastly-- Justin was also supposed to do food shopping. Since both the kid's have jobs now, I told them that they were gonna have to take turns buying food. Ebony has fulfilled this obligation twice already. Justin. . . not so much. Fucking freeloader.

Just so you all know, going food shopping in our household is just as good as hitting the town. Seriously, there are major fights here on when to go food shopping so that everybody can get in on the action.

I told Dany I was gonna get him the same thing he got me for Mother's Day only in a different color. This means I'm gonna have to find a way to grill ribs that are blue or something.

Another thing that's supposed to happen this weekend is that the carpet in either the living room or dining room is gonna come up. I don't see how this is going to happen. Mostly because I don't feel like doing it and if I don't feel like doing something nobody else will take the initiative. The sad thing isn't that if I don't do it, it doesn't get done. Nope, the real tragedy is that I'm so lazy, I really feel like doing it. This goes for just about EVERYTHING.

This, for me, is a super busy weekend. Usually I like to sit around, play computer games, drink beer and eat food out in the backyard.

I finally got around to purchasing and planting impatiens in the barrels out in front of the house. I don't think I've ever let it get this late in the year before doing it.

Aaaaand ... that's the extent of my horticultural endeavors.

I am gonna brew up another batch of beer after the ballgame, though. And probably another one tomorrow morning.

If they can color bacon, you can probably color ribs.
