The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
I gardened this week end. Now I'm hot and sticky.

Full front:

This year I planted the marigolds much closer together than the recommended 10 to 18 inches. Hopefully the fabric and the crowding will keep the weeds away. The downside is that planting them so close together means I needed more plants. I did not figure this when I bought the marigolds.

The middle there are Snowball marigolds and one Flagstaff that I started from seed. I hope they grow because I think the combination with the store bought is gonna look nice.

I did not separate my iris last fall and now I have a monster:

I didn't do the Asiatic lilies either:

Remember Columbie? The lone survivor of my disasterous first seed starting experiment? Well, he's gonna give me a flower, I just know it. And it only took a year and a half.

Another view of the flower bed. That's lavender in the pot in the foreground.

Very nice! I'm also hot and sweaty, but not from anything nearly as fulfilling.
