Another This-is-why-you're-fat moment bought to you by big_girl.

Stop 'n Shop had thick Oscar Meyer applesmoked bacon on sale for 5 bucks-- buy one get one get one free.

In my head: We've got butter, we've got peppercorns. All we need is scallops! Hey, isn't the fish market directly in between Stop 'n Shop and my house?

What we did: Fry the extra thick bacon really quickly so it's rubbery. In a mortar and pestle grind up peppercorns, a pinch of kosher salt, garlic flakes, onion powder and a dash of Chinese 5 spice. Put that in a small dish and squeeze a half a lime in it. Melt a little butter in a saucepan. Cut gigantic sea scallops in half, dip in butter, dip in lime and spices, wrap with bacon and broil for 5 minutes or so.

This is why I'm fat. It doesn't explain why everyone who lives with me is tiny and skinny. It must be because if you think it up, you get extra poundage. Which doesn't explain the eggs in bed and bacon sandwiches from a few months back. Justin thought that up.
