The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
It isn't Saturday?

The "blizzard" has closed down school and work. What else is there to do but experiment in the kitchen for brunch?

I made crepes, which is a first for me. I have attempted to make crepes before but all I got were tough, broken pancakes. This time, after only two tries, I got the batter consistency and the pan rolling juuuuust right and my crepes are perfect!

Since we didn't panic shop, I was stuck with what we had on hand. One can of peaches in syrup and some cream cheese. Mix the cream cheese and peaches? Too easy. Into the blender went the cream cheese, a few peaches, plenty of canned peaches syrup, some confectioner's sugar, vanilla, allspice, powdered ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.

The rest of the peaches got chopped up, put in the middle of a crepe, a spoonful of the blender concoction on top of the peaches. A little powdered sugar atop the folded crepe. Plus bacon. On the side. No experimenting with the bacon.

My family is really loving me right now. I think it would have been even better with mascop. . . mascrap. . . that cheese that I can't spell. But you cook with the ingredients you have not with the ones you wish you had.
