The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
There's no wire!!!!

Since I do sell this stuff, I want to make it better. But since I don't sell enough to cover the cost of my hobby, I don't want to spend a lot of money. To this end, I use colored craft wire which is copper permanently colored by alchemy of some sort.

Recently I've come across silver and gold enameled (or plated. I've seen it described both ways) copper wire. This stuff can be twice as expensive as plain old colored copper wire but I've also found a few on-line jewelry supply sellers who have it for only about 5% more than it costs me at the store. Only nobody has any. Not in 18, 20 and 22 gauge. It's all out-of-stock. WHY??!!!!

Come on, man! I'm running out of wire. Don't you understand? What am I gonna do when it's all gone? How'm I supposed to get by without hammering a chain link or spiraling some jump rings or affixing a wrapped loop to some beads? I can't make it, man-- I can't!! I need my wire fix.

I also have this awful feeling that when they do come back, they're gonna be more expensive.
