The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
He was trying to induce a stroke.

I once tried to do mitered corners with a chainsaw. Yeah, I'll wait. . . O.K., now that you've stopped laughing, I had an idea in my head for an earring display thingy which I, of course, call The Earring Display Thingy. The Earring Display Thingy has mitered corners. Since I bought Justin a chop saw for Christmas, I figured I could use it to make the corners.

Only Justin really doesn't want anybody playing with his chop saw. He first said I could use it, then he said I wouldn't be able to figure out how to make the miters and then he said he'd do it. Which is fine by me, less for me to do.

I cut the lumber for the frame. Me and Justin put the square frame together together. I cut and electric stapled the wire mesh to the frame. And then I waited for Justin to cut the molding for me. And I waited and I waited. . ..

On Thursday I was invited to do a craft fair. Yay! Now I really need The Display Thingy. Justin said he'd do it. On Friday he came in from work, cut and attached one piece of molding to the frame-- and then went to a party and never came back.

I call him at 10 this morning, "Justin, don't do this to me. I need it by tomorrow!"

"Don't worry, mom." He says groggily because I woke him up, "I'm getting ready to leave right now."

I call him at 2. "Why are you doing this to me?!"

"Make the bus come faster," he says and I hang up on him.

At 3 I hear banging in the backyard. He came in and went straight to work. He finished saving me just enough sunlight to paint it.

I love your thingy! Is it two-toned or half-finished in this picture?

Two toned. Like my cards -- purple and black.

Yeah, mitered corners are no big deal if you have the proper tool. So even though you were freaking out, Justin knew he could do it in no time.

He was correct, of course, but that doesn't help your anxiety. It looks great!
