The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
I remember when I could take good jewelry pics like this icon.

This story starts with me being very dumb. Or misinformed. Whichever. See, I was looking for 3.5mm sterling silver jump rings and I found some that were super, duper cheap. Much less than the 30 dollar average price I'd been seeing. 20 dollars! And they were from a reputable source. I happily ordered them.

Ha! I was searching for 3.5mm inner dimension. When I got them, they were teeny, tiny. They had a 3.5mm outer dimension. Durr! Well I had them, lets see what I could do with them. What I did was make very delicate and, in my estimation, quite lovely chains. It's painstaking work, making chains with these tiny jump rings and I wanted to show them off a little. Only my stinking camera refuses to take in-focus pictures.

This is the best I could do:

Fuzzy delicate chain

I've tried everything to get good pics with this camera. Big F-stops, small F-stops, less light, more light, macro on, macro off, zoom in, zoom out. . . it doesn't matter, the camera just won't focus. This started after I got some water in the camera taking pictures of flowers last summer. It hasn't worked well since.

Looks like I'll have to wait until I get my tax return to get a new camera. If I have enough left after I buy a new shed. And convince myself that spending upwards of 150 dollars is worth it for my hobby. Sigh.

I want a new shed too. Only before I could get a new shed, I'd have to have a tree cut down. Theoretically I could cut the tree down myself, but that would just be inviting doom. No one needs that. Looks like I won't be getting a shed anytime soon.

Or a new camera because I don't want one since I can just swipe the wife's for all my photographing needs.

Our shed blew over in a storm last spring. We righted it but it's just waiting for a good wind to blow away and kill someone.
