The Queen of Sheeeba [userpic]
Yay internet!

As some of you may know, I have a weakness for Harlequins. Harlequin Presents, to be specific. I mean, how can I resist a book titled Mistress! Pregnant by The Spanish Billionaire or Ruthless Russian, Lost Innocence (for reals Presents out this month)? But I'm not paying 5 dollars apiece for them. That's preposterous. You can read them in about a half an hour. When I was in Brooklyn I used to get them from street vendors for a buck each.

Moving out here brought an end to my shameful reading habits. No used book store or street vendors to be found. Then, allavasuddenly, it hit me. Why not try eBay? Whelp-- I just ordered a lot of 15 and two lots of 10 books for a grand total of $5.48!* That's sixteen cents apiece. Beat that street vendors!

*Plus shipping. O.K., O.K., with shipping it came out to 17 bucks---- but still!

My mom read hundreds, no thousands, of Harlequin books. When she passed in 97', we gave away boxes and boxes of the books.

That's why you can't spend too much on them. You'll go bankrupt. I also gave away boxes of them when I moved here.
